Welcome to Physical Education!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

My name is Steven Dean, and I am excited to be your child’s Physical Education teacher at both Colony Oak Elementary School and Ripona Elementary School.

I have been teaching Physical Education for 21 years, and it is my hope that each student will develop a lifelong appreciation for physical activity, exercise, and healthy living. Physical Education is much more than simply playing games or participating in sports. It provides students with meaningful learning experiences through physical activities that are carefully selected and presented with consideration for each child’s physical, social, emotional, and personal growth and development.

Throughout the school year, students will have opportunities to develop their motor skills, coordination, fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence. My goal is to create a positive and supportive environment where every child feels successful and encouraged to participate, try new activities, and do their best.

I look forward to getting to know your child and helping them discover the many benefits and joys of being physically active. Together, we can encourage healthy habits and a positive attitude toward exercise that can last a lifetime.
