Welcome to My Page

Welcome to 7th grade! I am so excited to be in my second year of teaching! I teach math, science, and the wellness elective. I student taught for 6th grade at Ripona Elementary before starting my first year. I coach boys and girls volleyball and am one of the two athletic directors at this site. I earned my BS from Cal State Fullerton in Child and Adolescent Studies with an emphasis in Elementary Education, my multiple subject teaching credential from CSU Stanislaus, and my MS in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University.

In 7th grade math, students move from learning basic skills to using math to explain their thinking and solve real-world problems, as emphasized in the Illustrative Mathematics curriculum. Lessons focus on understanding why math works, not just getting the correct answer. Students should expect daily practice problems to reinforce learning and are responsible for keeping their interactive notebooks organized and up to date. At home, parents can support students by encouraging them to review their notes, complete practice each night, ask questions when they are unsure, and maintain a consistent homework routine. With practice, perseverance, and support, students will build confidence and stronger problem-solving skills throughout the year.

I am looking forward to a fantastic year together. I cannot wait for all of the great experiences that will be created in the classroom. My philosophy of teaching is learning by creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. I feel strongly about including parents and guardians in the education of their children to fully support their academic success. Here's to a great school year!

Welcome Back!

Welcome Back to 2026!

We are excited to welcome students and families back as we begin the second half of the school year. The start of a new year is a great opportunity to reflect on the growth students have already made and to set clear goals moving forward.

As we enter January, we will be moving forward with higher expectations while continuing to support students academically, socially, and emotionally. Students will be encouraged to take greater responsibility for their learning, demonstrate strong work habits, and contribute positively to our school community.

We appreciate the continued partnership between home and school and look forward to a productive, focused, and successful start to 2026.

Celtic Faire Field Trip Coming up!

Our field trip is on March 6th. Permission slips will be sent home next week. Please return permission slips along with $10 cash for students to enter. $15 for adults. We still need more parent volunteers to drive and chaperone students due to the bus shortage! Please reach out to myself or Ms. Nussbaumer if you are interested.
