INTRODUCTION TO 4TH GRADE.

 

Welcome to Mr. Tejeda's 4th grade class! This year in 4th grade, students will engage in a rich curriculum aligned with the California State Standards to support academic growth, critical thinking, and independence. In English Language Arts, students will strengthen their reading comprehension by analyzing fiction and informational texts, developing writing skills across opinion, narrative, and informational pieces, all while improving grammar, vocabulary, and speaking skills. In Mathematics, instruction will focus on place value, multi-digit addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, fractions, measurement, geometry, and problem-solving strategies. In History–Social Science, students will explore California’s history, geography, and diverse cultures, learning about Native American tribes, early explorers, missions, statehood, and how California fits into the United States today. Throughout the year, students will be encouraged to collaborate, ask questions, and take ownership of their learning as they build skills needed for success in upper elementary grades and beyond.
