INTRODUCTION TO 4TH GRADE.

Welcome to Mr. Tejeda's 4th grade class! This year in 4th grade, students will engage in a rich curriculum aligned with the California State Standards to support academic growth, critical thinking, and independence. In English Language Arts, students will strengthen their reading comprehension by analyzing fiction and informational texts, developing writing skills across opinion, narrative, and informational pieces, all while improving grammar, vocabulary, and speaking skills. In Mathematics, instruction will focus on place value, multi-digit addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, fractions, measurement, geometry, and problem-solving strategies. In History–Social Science, students will explore California’s history, geography, and diverse cultures, learning about Native American tribes, early explorers, missions, statehood, and how California fits into the United States today. Throughout the year, students will be encouraged to collaborate, ask questions, and take ownership of their learning as they build skills needed for success in upper elementary grades and beyond.

About me...

I was born in Modesto, California, but lived most of my childhood in Ripon. Go Indians! After graduating from Ripon High School, I attended Modesto Junior College before transferring to Stanislaus State University. This is where I ultimately graduated with a major in Liberal Studies, a concentration in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second/Other Language), and credentials in bilingual education.

Expectations

4th grade Mustangs follow Ripona's expectations to be respectful, safe, responsible, and kind! In our classroom, we work together to create a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment where every student can succeed. Students are expected to arrive on time each day, prepared with necessary materials and ready to learn. Homework should be completed carefully and submitted on time, as it reinforces skills taught in class and helps students develop responsibility and organization. Respectful behavior is expected at all times: students should follow classroom rules, listen attentively, participate appropriately, and treat classmates and adults with kindness. Positive choices, effort, and accountability help our classroom run smoothly and allow everyone the opportunity to do their best.

Jog-A-Thon Tomorrow

Hello Mustang families!

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow Friday September 18th is our annual Jog-A-Thon. 4th Graders will out to the field from 2:10pm-2:45pm,

We appreciate all your donations to the cause! Anything helps!

If you'd like to volunteer for the event, make sure to stop by the front office and complete the required forms to do so.

Welcome Back!

Dear 4th Grade Families,

I wanted to take a moment to welcome everyone back and share how great these first three days of school have been! Our students have done an excellent job adjusting to our classroom routines and jumping back into learning. I am very proud of the effort, kindness, and enthusiasm they've shown so far.

These first few days have been a great start, and I am very excited about everything we will accomplish together throughout the rest of the school year!

A few important reminders: Please make sure your child completes and returns the following items as soon as possible:

Chromebook and Library Book Pledge Forms – Please complete, sign, and return them by Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
P.E Policies & Procedures– Please complete and return this form as well.
Droplet Forms – Please make sure all required online Droplet forms have been completed.

🍎 Classroom Snacks

Students often ask for a snack before going out to recess. If you'd like to donate snacks for our classroom, you are more than welcome to send something from the Approved Snack List. Any donations are greatly appreciated and will help make sure students have an appropriate snack option when they need one.
